Welcome to My Garden

What started as a Mother's Day Gift of a simple plastic pool...
is now a major source of serenity, strength and overall rejuvenation.

For many, many years now, I have attempted to grow things indoors. My husband teases me about my lack of a green thumb because I can kill Anything in only a couple of weeks!

However, my outdoor garden has stopped his joking!

I started with the pond. After digging it in, I went looking for plants.... I read books about water gardens and attempted to set up filter 'bogs' in the pots making up the waterfall. Then the mosquito larvae took over so we bought fish.....

Mother Nature rewarded me for my efforts: The bogs and fish worked together nicely. The plants bloomed and the fish are fat and happy!

Japanese Maple
"Orangeola"

As you can see from the pictures, it was a dry barren waste land. There was only patchy "grass" and weeds. I have started a center circle of herbs. The end circle has my favorite, Holly, and will be filled in more next spring. I built the trellis out of 2x2 lumber and will have Wisteria on it next year. The wild grapes are wonderful - but, now I am inspired to have something more!

"Lord Macintosh" is a Registered Rat Terrier.
His parents are from Europe
He does not know he is a dog - and he is a lot of fun!.
